There are eternal questions surrounding extraterrestrial life and extinct civilizations from other planets. We seek to discover what came before us and what may await us. We want to move forward, yet at the same time we forget what our reality is now. It may sound like a familiar cliché, but it seems we are not fully aware of what we risk. We are alone in the universe, for now. There is nothing quite like the human species, and we are as small as dust in the vastness. And yet, we are filled with hatred, greed, and narcissism. We are nothing more than, for the time being, hopelessly alone in the universe.

Hopelessly alone is a 40 × 40 cm painting from the series Totally unimportant. It is executed in mixed media, combining acrylic, acrylic varnish, sand, and small dots of gold foil. Depending on the viewing angle, the surface produces shifting visual effects. Hopelessly Alone brings together abstraction, conceptual art and philosophical reflection. It is a contemporary artwork about isolation, human nature and our search for meaning within an incomprehensibly large universe.

The work emerged as a response to the presence of hatred on our planet.

Visual Sensation – Creation IV is a work that represents the connection and merging of energies. The material is wood, OSB board, painted with acrylic paints and acrylic varnish. Work continues a series of visual sensation paintings from 2002 and the starting point for creating visual stimulation actually lies in cosmic sensations.

The appearance of the artwork suggests an activation of the surface on which it is placed. In this way, the visual experience becomes more expansive and the surrounding space is activated, implying an extension of the boundaries of the physical and material realm.

Visual sensations

A series of paintings in specific dimensions, arranged on the wall to form compositions in which the entire surface becomes active, effectively becoming part of the work itself. The pieces are painted on OSB boards using acrylic paint and acrylic varnish. The wood structure and glossy surface create effects that change depending on the viewing angle. Mounted so they project slightly from the wall, they create a sense of floating. The series itself continues a line of research begun in 2002 under the title Visual Stimulation. From a narrative perspective, these works can be seen as reflections of light in a cosmic space.

Visual Sensation – Creation is a diptych with overall dimensions of approximately 40 × 100 × 3.5 cm. The first part measures 13.5 × 75 × 3.5 cm, and the second 13.5 × 53.5 × 3.5 cm. The wall surface becomes an active part of the work. The material is wood, OSB board, painted with acrylic paints and acrylic varnish. The panels are raised, which is intended to create a sense of floating. The work continues a series of visual sensation paintings from 2002. It focuses on dynamics, light within darkness, and a sense of calm that runs through the piece. Unity, the idea that everything is connected, is for me, one of the fundamental principles of creation.

Waiting for the Sun, the title of the painting guides us toward a search for light in the darkness, suggesting hope and faith that not everything is lost. Times are difficult, but have they ever truly been better?

The painting was created in 2025 and belongs to the cycle Totally unimportant. For me, it represents a transition between my previous cycle Beneath the illusion, a sea of love awaits us and the new one, Totally unimportant. It is painted on a 70 × 100 cm canvas, using acrylic paints, acrylic varnish, sand for texture, and gold foil. Viewed from different angles and in different lighting, it reveals varying effects. Intention was to emphasize the breaking of sunlight through the darkness.

Beneath the Illusion, Peace reflects an exploration of the individual’s inner world and the universal search for inner peace. I use a variety of materials, sand, acrylic, and paper, to express both the material and the immaterial, in an attempt to grasp the invisible aspects of the mind that lie hidden beneath the outer layers visible to the world.
I use sand as a symbol of the material and the transient; its rough texture creates a visual barrier behind which deeper emotions reside. The texture of the sand adds a tactile dimension, reminding us of the fragile boundaries between what we present to the world and what we feel within.
Acrylic paints emphasize the contrasts between external and internal states. The black dots (paper) are a key element, they represent an illusion that we must become aware of, prompting us to question what lies beneath the surface, beneath illusion and appearance.
Despite its small scale, the work intensifies a feeling of intimacy and introspection.
